About SmartPath LLC's Project Management Training

A correct framework for the PMP® Exam will give you a better understanding. This way you can answer Exam questions in any given situation. Keys to passing. Our biggest training volume is PMP® Certification Training with Exam Prep - Bellevue, WA & Tysons Corner,(DC Metro), VA. You are prepared for the PMP® Exam by the end of our training. That’s right! That’s because we do it so well and there’s no need to do two separate training programs – one for the approved 35 hours of formal education and the other to prepare you for the Exam. With SmartPath LLC’s exceptional materials and highly experienced trainers, you will have all the preparation you need to pass the PMP® Exam, as well as improve your project management skills. Knowledge is power. If you understand it, you will pass the Exam. It’s really that simple. Almost 100% of the time, most of SmartPath LLC's trainees in each SmartPath LLC class will pass. That could be you, right now!

SmartPath LLC’s training focuses on understanding, which eliminates the need to “cram" for the Exam. If you cram for the Exam and the questions don’t align to your "cramming", then it will be difficult to pass, because you won't be able to answer the questions. You will need to understand what the project manager will do based on many scenarios. You need to have the correct understanding so you can apply reasoning based on a correct framework and come up with the right answer. We also have key learning tools that create memory joggers for you.

What if you have gaps in your project management experience and you need more time to feel a deeper comfort level with information that is new to you? This is okay too. We don’t make you take the PMP® Exam the next day, although some trainees certainly do take it so quickly. What we do suggest is that you take a few days extra to feel refreshed after intensive training and take the Exam when you are rested. Taking a few extra days to totally wrap up your preparation for the PMP® Exam never hurt anyone. The best policy is to schedule your Exam after you have already covered a couple of days of Exam Prep if you are pre-approved to take the Exam already. This way, based on your learning in the past, you can gauge your own learning needs better. Many of our trainees take the PMP® Exam within 1 to 10 days following training. Some take a few extra weeks, or some extra days because of their experience gaps, and fewer trainees take several months. If you do not have Exam Approval, then plan on 3 to 5 days after taking the training to receive approval following your experience and training submission. In the meantime continue to study based on the recommendations given you in class.

Our training program is awesome and you will love our workflows. They show the knowledge areas with outputs, inputs, tools & techniques and now the roles, tasks and responsibilities of the project managers. Every knowledge area is summarized on one page. We also have workflows showing crucial process connections and process flows to help you understand these areas. Most of the PMP® Exam questions will require you to understand the connections and a lot of them will expect you to understand your roles surrounding these. We have lots of learning tools that help you gain key understanding quickly.

Our full color workflows will help you learn through visualization as you see the start-to-finish 42 processes within the 5 Process Groups and 9 Knowledge Areas. You will see the connections and understand how to interpret the context of the PMP® Exam Questions.

You will also learn about the roles, tasks and responsibilities of project managers (based on the new roles delineation study of 2010 by the PMI® organization, as well as definitions and professional conduct as it relates to day-to-day project management.

You will be given knowledge checklists of what you must know, the few areas you must memorize, what you need to practice, how to study for the PMP® Exam outside of training (memory joggers and other key information), and about 600 questions throughout, including those from the Exam Review session (knowledge assessment) on the last day of your training.

Get yourself the skills that puts your resume on the top of the pile, or makes your Employer really want to keep you. It is no secret in the market place that if you have a PMP® credential you have the advantage. Recently I got an email from one of our trainees who passed. She is being offered all kinds of new opportunities in this economic environment because she is skilled at what she does on the job and she's been showing it for the last six months. Or another young man who got his new opportunity and a huge salary increase in just one week after getting his credential. If you are a business professional, no doubt you have done many projects. You probably never thought about them as projects. What about that special report, the planning and implementation you did for training and events, business analysis, strategic planning, special research, redesigning or revamping retirement plans and more. And if you are a project manager already, it is likely you can qualify with as little as 2 1/2 years to 5 years of experience. And you can go back as many as 8 years to document your experience if you need to.

Your experience, plus our training combine to put the PMP® credential within your reach.

See you in class soon!

PMP® Exam Results: You will get your PMP® Exam results immediately after taking the Exam.

CAPM® trainees are always welcome, although specifically designed CAPM® training is offered monthly in both of our locations. You can now qualify to sit for the CAPM® Exam with only 23 hours of project management training and an education minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Our training includes CAPM® Exam Prep and is 28.5 hours.

FAQs

FAQ: What does Guaranteed-to-Run mean?

Answer: SmartPath LLC is local to Tysons Corner and Bellevue so PMP® Certification Training with Exam Prep is always guaranteed-to-run, as are some of our project skills training classes such as SharePoint 2010 End User, SharePoint 2010 for Project Managers, SharePoint Designer 2010, Microsoft Project 2010 Training, Project Manager Excellence - Skills Training, Overview of Project Management, Business Process Analysis Training. You do not need to pre-register at these locations. This means if you join the class, and make all your personal arrangements to do so, you will never been inconvenienced due to a cancellation. Therefore, the class will go forward. This is a big advantage to you. For this reason, because of our reason pricing structure, people often come to our classes from other various locations. Please note: If you see a class that is guaranteed-to-run, you'd better register because if that class has no registrations, we may decide to change it. So in fact, your registration makes the class guaranteed-to-run.

FAQ: Do all of your trainees take the Exam the next day?

Answer: No. We don't require you to take the Exam on a specific date. Reason: We take Pros, as well as those who have not led projects but would like to. We want you to understand the framework upon which the Exam is based, then with the Prep portion you have learned, apply it to interpret the Exam questions. Do people take the Exam the next day? Yes, if they cannot change what they already have or if they decide they want to keep the date. We promote learning through understanding, not cramming so it doesn't matter how long you wait to take the Exam. However, formulas and our Workflow 12 you must memorize so if you leave it too long you may need to brush up in these areas if you don't use them routinely at work. If you want to concentrate on the exercises and don't want to read the handouts again, then take the PMP® Exam within 10 days. In our experience most people have not been following the PMI® organization's best practices in all areas of project management so that means you may have some unlearning to do. If your projects have been based on business need you may have many gaps that will definitely require you more time to prepare for the Exam. Why? They may not have required you to do Earned Value Management or Critical Path Scheduling because "they need what you are producing."

FAQ: Why do you combine PMP® Certification Training with PMP® Exam Prep?

Answer: Because if the framework you have is not correct, you will still have difficulty with passing the first time. We want you to clearly understand your roles, the concepts, connections and context, tools and techniques, outputs and inputs and of course, the definitions and terminology. Our objective is to have you pass the first time. It is not fun to fail. It makes you feel awful. Therefore, if you learn it right the first time, taking 3 to 7 days if you are a Pro, or 2-3 weeks if you have some gaps, or 6 to 8 weeks if you have less experience then this is a much better plan.

FAQ: If I pre-register for a class am I required to pay money upfront?

Answer: No. If the class isn't guaranteed, we do not require your money unless enough people join. Let me tell you a class can go forward quickly if you pre-register for a class you are interested in, or you are requesting a class in any of the locations we offer. We encourage anyone to pre-register if you are interested. You may pre-register for any class, even if it is not scheduled. Write in the comment box when you would like it; listing a few scenarios often helps.

FAQ: Can I request another date at the location for which I want to pre-register?

Answer: Yes. Please request the dates in the comment box where you pre-register.

FAQ: Do you do corporate training?

Answer: Yes, we do. Look at our website, scheduled training and training not scheduled, or suggest the custom training you require and we will give you a quote. Please let us know the approximate dates and how many students you will have attending, along with the location address. Send all requests to Nereda Haque, PMP.
