  • Identifying ways to bring people of different ages together for a common purpose.


  • Ways to motivate and supervise staff in generations different from their own.


  • Ways to leverage the strengths of each generation together, for an effective team.


  • How to supervise an older employee


  • How media use affects the generations



Course Objectives

• Participants discuss and identify examples of micromanagement and micromanagers.

• Participants will learn the benefits of task delegation.

• Students will understand their coaching role and learn the value of coaching in avoiding micromanagement/

• Participants will learn to concentrate on controlling outcomes rather than controlling people. The value of task delegation will be reinforced.

• Participants will discuss the consequences of micromanagement and its impact on manager’s effectiveness, employee’s morale, and the professional development of both. The value of delegation will be reinforced.

• Participants will see examples of appropriate levels of control based on the circumstance, employee, and manager and will perform exercises practicing determining proper level of control.

• Participants will examine situations where reverse delegation happens and learn and discuss techniques to avoid it.

• Teams will role play manager/employee exchanges and develop methods to avoid reverse delegation while accomplishing goals.

• Students will analyze and discuss the advantages of defining work in terms of outcomes rather than focusing on personalities, effort, or physical presence.

• Participants’ role as mentor will be reviewed and reinforced.

• Participants will understand the advantages of empowering workers by making them accountable for results, and will learn and analyze methods of empowerment.

• Participants will discuss and analyze the importance of empowering communications in motivating staff, and will recognize the value of clear communications as a means to successful task completion.

• Participants will understand the advantages of communicating in an empowering way.

Turn right into first driveway

Go straight up the hill to the first stop sign. It's the next building on the left after the STOP sign. You can park to the right of the STOP sign or in front of the building. There is always plenty of parking and it's easy. We are in the Regus building in the Unigard Park. Parking is free.
